QuickNAS Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how QuickNAS (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes information when you use the QuickNAS app on macOS.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to QuickNAS app usage and support interactions via support@unko.fun.

It does not cover third-party services (for example, Synology services, Apple services, or your email provider), which are governed by their own policies.

2. Data We Process

QuickNAS is designed to operate primarily on your device. Depending on features you use, the App may process:

A. Account and connection settings

  • Display name
  • Username
  • Connection method (Direct URL or QuickConnect)
  • Endpoint address / QuickConnect ID
  • Connection security preference (for example, allowing insecure connection)

B. Session credentials

  • Session identifiers/tokens returned by NAS login APIs
  • Stored in macOS Keychain when session persistence is enabled by app behavior

C. Transfer and settings data

  • Transfer history metadata (file name, status, timestamps, progress, optional share link/error message)
  • App settings (upload path rules, duplicate-file handling, language/appearance, notification preferences, package size limit, onboarding completion state)

D. Local diagnostics

  • Recent client logs (connection/session/transfer related)
  • App performance/cache indicators shown in Settings

E. Optional support package (only when you choose to report a bug)

When you trigger “Report Bug”, QuickNAS may prepare an email draft and attach diagnostic files for your review, such as:

  • App version/build and bundle identifier
  • macOS version and locale
  • Language setting
  • Active account display name and sanitized endpoint summary
  • Connection state
  • Recent client logs

You decide whether to send the email and attachments.

3. What We Do Not Intentionally Collect as a Cloud Service

QuickNAS does not provide a mandatory QuickNAS cloud account service for core app use.

We do not run built-in ad profiling or behavioral advertising in the app.

4. How We Use Data

We process data to:

  • Connect and authenticate with your NAS
  • Upload files and execute transfer workflows
  • Apply your preferences and route files to configured paths
  • Show transfer state, connection state, and storage overview
  • Troubleshoot issues when you request support
  • Maintain app security and reliability

5. Data Sharing

We share/process data with third parties only as required for app functions you invoke:

  • Synology/NAS endpoints you configure (including QuickConnect when used)
  • Apple system services (for example Keychain, notification framework, share/email compose services)
  • Your chosen email client/provider when you send support emails

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Data Retention

Retention is generally controlled by local app state and your actions:

  • Account settings and transfer history remain until you edit/remove them
  • Session credentials remain in Keychain until replaced, invalidated, or removed
  • Client logs persist locally until cleared or rotated by app behavior
  • You can clear logs/cache and remove accounts from the app

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical measures in the app context, including use of macOS Keychain for session credential storage.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device and NAS environment.

8. International Processing

Because your configured NAS or support email providers may be in different regions, data may be processed in multiple jurisdictions.

9. Your Choices

You can:

  • Stop using the app at any time
  • Remove accounts and clear local logs/cache
  • Decide whether to send support emails/attachments
  • Configure connection behavior, including secure/insecure access options where available

10. Children

QuickNAS is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law in your region.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision.
